New England HERC

This position provides support to the President’s Office, serving as an administrative aide to the CEO. The Administrative Assistant also provides support to the College’s Board of Trustees and is the chief communication liaison to the Board. 

• Answers the President’s office phone, greets the public, plans meeting logistics and communicates with attendees; 
• Manages the President’s calendar and schedule; 
• Makes all arrangements for President’s travel;
• Assists with special events, including major events (Commencement, Founders Day, Convocation) and helps manage events hosted by the President; 
• Schedules, in association with Senior Team and Trustees, a two-year calendar for Board meetings and Board Committee meetings;
• Attends all Board Meetings and those Board Committee Meetings for which the President is the chief liaison; records and distributes minutes;
• Assists Trustees in meeting logistics, schedules, and updates.
• Maintains data on trustee terms, officer terms.  Maintains up-to-date version of Bylaws and maintains records of past changes to Bylaws.
• Processes correspondence, including but not limited to, drafting and/or editing reports for the President; 
• Manages President’s Office Budget
• Work with various offices, such as Development, to plan President’s participation in conferences, symposia, and other external programs.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree.

Experience

• Minimum 3 years’ experience or equivalent in an administrative or support role.

• Exceptional communication, writing, and diplomacy skills;
• Sensitivity and discretion with regard to confidential information;
• Ability to interact positively with a wide range of key constituents;
• Dedication to being highly accurate and proficient in all duties, strong organizational skills essential;
• Must maintain a professional appearance and demeanor; 
• Proficient in MS Office products (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel); 
• Occasional nights and weekend hours are required.
