The Psychology Department at Tufts University in Medford, MA is seeking a part-time lecturer to teach an undergraduate course in Emotion (PSY 22) in the Fall 2023 semester. This course is an introduction to theory and research on the nature of emotion and its regulation. Topics may include defining and measuring emotion and related constructs; theories of emotion elicitation, expression, and regulation; perspectives on the function of emotions; discrete emotions such as joy, surprise, fear, anger, sadness, and disgust; emotion across cultural, developmental, and clinical contexts; the neural, endocrine, and autonomic concomitants of emotion. The class is scheduled to meet Thursday evenings, 6:30 -9:00 p.m., with additional instructor responsibilities including holding weekly office hours, communicating with students over email, and determining and submitting final grades.

Candidates with a Ph.D. in psychology are preferred, although ABD graduate students may be considered. College-level teaching experience is required.
