Description: The Allied Health Sciences Program at Mars Hill University invites applications for a 10-month, tenure track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor of Health Sciences. The candidate must have earned a post-professional doctorate in physical therapy, occupational therapy, or related field. Preference will be given to those with experience teaching in a liberal art setting and advising pre-professional students. Primary duties will include: 1) teaching lower-level undergraduate courses in the health sciences such as introduction to allied health, anatomy and physiology, and nutrition; 2) teaching upper-level undergraduate courses in the major such as therapeutic modalities, senior capstone, and other courses in the candidate’s area of expertise; 3) advising pre-professional undergraduates; and 4) partnering with local or regional allied health entities to provide clinical experiences.
Qualifications: A post-professional doctorate in physical therapy, occupational therapy, or related field (PhD., DSc., Ed.D., DHS) is required. Qualified candidates who are ABD with teaching experience are welcome to apply.
Responsibilities: All MHU faculty are expected to provide quality instruction to undergraduate students, advise in the major, engage in service to the institution, and produce research and scholarship appropriate to the mission of MHU.
