The School of Management at Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, MA is seeking applications for an adjunct teaching position for the Construction Management Program, with a potential start date of Fall 2021. He/she will be expected to teach undergraduate courses in different subjects, including but not limited to, Building Construction Methods, Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Construction Graphics, Construction Surveying, Construction Estimating, Real Estate Development, and Facilities Management. There are also opportunities to teach graduate level Construction Management courses dependent upon experience and earned degrees. The candidate must possess excellent communication/leadership skills.Wentworth Institute of Technology (WIT) is a private university in Boston, Massachusetts that emphasizes learning by doing through the promotion of a transformative student experience, inclusive excellence, and high-value learning.The Construction Management Program has 11 full-time faculty, two full-time staff, and more than 400 undergraduate students. It offers a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management (BSCM) and BSCM with Facility Management (FM) concentration or BSCM with Real Estate Management (RE) concentration. The program is accredited by the American Council for Construction Education (ACCE) and was nationally ranked number 1 by College Factual in 2017. The curriculum includes several major-specific courses that have both lecture and laboratory components. The successful adjunct candidate will potentially be engaged in teaching both lecture and related laboratory sessions. The program has been investing on implementing advanced technology across the curriculum and has built a new VD+C lab. It should be noted that the university/program does not provide teaching assistants. The university offers master?s programs in Construction Management and Facility Management that are maintained by the School of Management and taught in online and hybrid modalities.Required Qualifications:A Master?s Degree in Construction Management or a related field as well as a minimum of 3 years of industry experience preferably in building construction is acceptable. Demonstrated ability to teach may be substituted for full time teaching experience at the university level. Strong interpersonal communication skills as well as solid computer skills are necessary.Preferred Qualifications:Teaching experience at the university level is preferred, as well as a willingness to engage in distance learning activities and multiple modalities of course content delivery.
