Under the direction of the Chief of Police, Lieutenant, and the Police Department at Wentworth Institute of Technology, the Executive Assistant provides routine to highly complex administrative and clerical support. This position will have broad knowledge of all department functions and some specialized knowledge of an extensive body of rules, procedures, and operations in order to assist in all facets of police administration. The Executive Assistant exercises considerable discretion to the sensitive and confidential nature of information processed in this department.
High school diploma or GED; vocational/technical training in advanced administrative support functions; five (5) years of administrative/clerical support experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Knowledge of common administrative functions, report and record maintenance, filing processes, editing, computer applications including Microsoft Office products, and general office equipment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions in accordance with established departmental policies and procedures.
Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships.
Ability to work with and exercise discretion of confidential and sensitive information.
