The primary purpose of the position is to ensure integrity and consistency of clinical data, and data collection for the UNITE Study at the BU School of Medicine Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy Center as a research assistant. A main responsibility is scheduling and conducting family phone interviews to collect clinical data on brain donors. Another duty is being a main point of contact for brain donations. A third responsibility includes securing and entering data from medical records. The RA will also have the opportunity to assist with specific research projects including data analysis and manuscript development.
Work experience: 1-3 years of clinical research experience, preferably in neurology, neuropsychology, neurodegenerative disease and/or head injury. Analytical- qualitative and quantitative data analysis Computer/Technical- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Docs, statistical software package, data entry and attention to detail Office/Administrative- Requesting medical records Written and Oral Communication- Scientific manuscript preparation, accurate email communication with investigators and donor families, ability to adapt demeanor on the phone for cognitively impaired participants, and participants in crisis and grieving.
BA or equivalent with 1-2 years experience
