Founded in 1904, Wentworth Institute of Technology is an independent, co-educational, nationally-ranked university offering career-focused education through 24 bachelor?s degree programs in areas including computer science, computer networking, cybersecurity, engineering, architecture, design, and construction management. Recent new programs include Cybersecurity and Applied Sciences, both launched in 2019, and Computer Science+Society, launching in 2021.The School of Computing & Data Science invites applications for two open positions at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning August 31, 2021. Qualifications required of all applicants include a minimum of an M.S. in Computer Science, or a related discipline, and a strong commitment to teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Particular attention will be given to candidates with a background in cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, data science, software development, and/or data structures and algorithms. However, candidates with any computational background are encouraged to apply.The School consists of 30+ full-time faculty that offer undergraduate majors in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Computer Networking, and Applied Mathematics and graduate degrees in Applied Computer Science and Data Science. The School has teaching and research strengths in artificial intelligence, data science, cybersecurity, high-performance computing, mobile/web application development, stochastic processes, dynamical systems, and modeling. In addition, members of the School have close collaborative relationships with faculty in sciences, humanities, and electrical and computer engineering, among others.Wentworth?s mission is to prepare our students for career success through experiential learning. Faculty are expected to teach undergraduate computing courses, engage in research and scholarly activity, and perform service to the university (including academic advising and serving on committees) and the profession. Faculty are strongly encouraged to participate in service-learning opportunities with the Center for Community and Learning Partnerships as well as innovation and entrepreneurship activities with Accelerate.Review of applications will begin by March 15, 2021 and continue on a rolling basis.
