The Associate Director of Major Gifts (ADMG) is responsible for the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of prospects with giving capacity of $250,000 or more. In support of the Law School's strategic goals, actively manages a portfolio of 150+ prospects at various relationship and proposal stages. Working as part of a larger fundraising team, the ADMG will also build strong relationships, and work closely with volunteer leaders and committees.
Beyond HLS, the ADMG will collaborate with other University development and alumni relations teams, and serves as a knowledgeable liaison to other Law School and University offices. Extensive travel is required to conduct donor and prospect visits, as well as for event staffing. This position manages a portfolio of prospects primarily from top-ranking law firms.
As Associate Director of Major Gifts you will:
Be responsible for raising between $3M-$5M annually.
Manage prospects including setting strategy, proposal development, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
Re-engage lapsed donors, maintain relationships with current donors, and develop new prospect relationships.
Manage regional leadership volunteer committees - coordinating meetings and related activities.
Perform other responsibilities as needed.
This position is currently not expected to travel until travel restrictions are lifted per Harvard University guidelines in coordination with state and university health officials. All visits are currently being conducted via phone and video until travel is feasible again.

Union: 00 - Non Union, Exempt or Temporary
Bachelor's degree and 7 years of overall development experience, with at least 5 years in direct frontline fundraising, preferably in leadership or major gifts within higher education.
