About the Opportunity:
Responsibilities: Our primary mission is to understand the brain basis of psychiatric disorders and to promote translation of this knowledge into clinical practice. Towards this end, the successful candidate will employ multimodal neuroimaging techniques to help investigate the pathophysiology of psychiatric and neurodevelopmental disorders such as schizophrenia, depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, and ADHD. The candidate will perform all research that relates to discovering biomarkers for improved diagnosis, early detection (potentiating early intervention and possibly prevention), prediction of therapeutic response (targeted towards precision medicine) as well as developing novel therapeutic techniques (e.g., real-time fMRI feedback) with the hope of improving (or augmenting) currently available treatments. The primary responsibilities of this position involve 1) managing all aspects of the Whitfield-Gabrieli Laboratory and 2) collecting/analyzing behavioral and neuroimaging data and 3) presenting results at conferences and writing up results for journals.
Qualifications: The qualified candidate should have a background in neuroscience, psychology and/or statistics, mathematics and physics. A Bachelor's degree required; Masters degree is a major plus.
