About the Opportunity: The Mathematical Data Science Lab under Prof. Ehsan Elhamifar at Northeastern University's Khoury College of Computer Sciences is inviting applications for Postdoctoral Researchers.
Responsibilities: We are seeking highly motivated postdoctoral researchers with strong background and interests in computer vision and machine learning to join our group in a quest to perform breakthrough research on approaches that advance the following projects. Projects in computer vision include procedure learning from instructional data, massive-scale image and video recognition with no/few labels, and structural deep learning for weakly supervised segmentation and recognition. Projects in machine learning include structured dynamic data summarization, streaming multi-label zero-shot and few-shot learning, and scalable discrete optimization algorithms for robust machine learning.
The Postdoc will help in initiation and conducting research on the topics discussed in the above summary and works on writing papers on the results of his/her project. The postdoc will also help in advising PhD RAs to work on the projects discussed above.
Qualifications: A recent Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Statistics, or related fields. Expertise in machine learning and/or computer vision and strong programming skills in Python, C++, MATLAB.
Salary Grade: 10
Additional Information: The preferred start date is between November 2019 and January 2020. The position is for one year, with the possibility of extension up to three years. Salary would be commensurate with experience.
