About the Opportunity: The Department of Biology at Northeastern University, Boston, Massachusetts invites applications from qualified candidates for a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position (Assistant or Associate Teaching Professor, with rank determined by qualifications of the successful applicant) with significant opportunity for career advancement. The Department of Biology is strongly interdisciplinary, and administers programs in the College of Science at Northeastern University in Biology, Cell and Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, and Behavioral Neuroscience for more than 1,200 undergraduates. Responsibilities: The primary responsibilities of this position are to teach multiple sections of courses for undergraduates, which may include Biochemistry and a freshman course called Inquiries in Biological Sciences, as well as more specialized courses in the biological sciences, and to design and implement evidence-based revisions to assigned courses. Additional duties may involve coordination with other instructors, organization of laboratory curricula, and additional teaching and course development.
Qualifications: Applicants must have a Ph.D. in the biological sciences or another closely related discipline prior to the start of the appointment, with expertise in biochemistry, experience teaching undergraduate lecture courses, and excellent communication, collaboration and leadership skills.
