This Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for:
Coordinating care for patients with complex medical needs in a fast-paced clinic.
Performing complete health history, physical exam and interpreting the findings.
Planning, implementing, and evaluating treatment with an interdisciplinary team to include Physicians, NPs, Nurses, Physical Therapists, and Clinical Psychologist.
Coordinating care with multiple services including Neurosurgery, Orthopedics, Urology, Renal Medicine, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, and Complex Care Service.
Participating in interdisciplinary team meetings for complex patients; ordering and interpreting diagnostic studies and therapeutic interventions necessary to augment the patient's physical findings and treatment plan.
Communicating clearly and concisely with the health care team and appropriately consulting and utilizing resources to meet the patient's needs; writing/dictating notes, communications to referring providers, as well as demonstrating proficiency with the electronic medical record.
Engaging in health teaching and counseling with the patient and their family in collaboration with the health care team.
Participating in informal and formal teaching opportunities, conferences and presentations with interdisciplinary team members including physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, clinical assistants and staff nurses.
Position includes working on Main Boston Campus, rotation to Waltham satellite, as well as working virtually from home.
Eventual role expansion to include NP run clinics, both on campus and virtually.
Opportunities for professional development, participation in research studies, and involvement in Spina Bifida care initiatives.
To qualify, you must have:
A BSN and Master's in Nursing
MA NP license
3-5 years' experience as a staff RN and 1-2 yrs of FNP or PNP experience in an acute care setting. Ambulatory experience a plus.
The ability to work 40 hours a week, 4 10 hour shifts Monday through Friday (no weekends or on call shifts) in both Boston and Waltham.
