Tufts University School of Dental Medicine invites applications for a full-time faculty position as Director of the Predoctoral Endodontics Program, assistant/associate professor rank, within the Department of Endodontics. Academic rank and salary are commensurate with education, experience, and qualifications. The expected starting date is July 1, 2017. The Search Committee at TUSDM is particularly interested in candidates who, through their research, teaching, and service, will be an asset to the University.
The selected individual will have primary responsibilities as the Director of the Predoctoral Endodontics Program, which will include preclinical and clinical education, endodontic seminars as well as clinical supervision of patient care. Expectations will include good working relations with students and faculty, participation in academic activities, and scholarly activities leading to future development and promotion.
Candidates must have experience in teaching didactic, clinical and preclinical endodontics. The Director of Pre-doctoral Endodontics will be expected to establish and continue educational goals of the department and the process of high quality patient care. The Director will be Course Director of the preclinical simulation course and will be responsible for preparing students to pass the WREB and CDCA licensure examinations. The Director will calibrate pre-doctoral Endodontic faculty to standardize treatment philosophy and clinical outcomes.
Applicants must have a certificate in Endodontics from a CODA recognized institution, be Board certified/eligible in Endodontics by the American Board of Endodontics, and hold a D.D.S./D.M.D. or equivalent degree. Appropriate advanced credentials such as M.S. or Ph.D. are preferred but not required.. Participation in appropriate national and international professional and scientific organizations is desired.
