SENIOR RESEARCH SUPPORT ASSOCIATE , Picower Institute for Learning and Memory-Chung Lab , to aid with ongoing research in the Chung Lab on finding solutions to improve technologies and processes. The Chung Lab is an interdisciplinary research team devoted to developing and applying novel technologies (e.g., CLARITY, SHIELD, MAP, eFLASH) for integrative and comprehensive understanding of large-scale complex biological systems. Will undertake biological and bioengineering-related laboratory work with the goal of supporting the development of new technologies. Responsibilities will include providing comprehensive technical support for multiple researchers and projects; performing animal-related work, including mouse perfusion and behavioral and histological experiments; preparing and executing experiments, including the preparation of buffers, reagents, and tissue samples and imaging; and assuring comprehensive quality control for experiments, data consolidation, and reports to supervisor. May coordinate multiple separate research-related projects simultaneously. The opportunity to undertake independent projects may be available once competency in the laboratory is demonstrated.
Job Requirements REQUIRED : exposure to a research lab; ability to work independently and as part of a team; meticulous attention to detail; excellent organizational, planning, quantitative, and written and verbal communication skills; ability to troubleshoot experiments independently, multi-task, and work in a fast-paced and dynamic research environment. PREFERRED : a bachelor's degree in biology, biological engineering, neuroscience, or a related field; and experience with animal (mouse) work, immunohistochemistry, confocal microscopy, and ImageJ.
