ALUMNI RELATIONS ASSOCIATE SCHOOL OF LAW Alumni Relations at Boston University is a key component of the Campaign for Boston University. Responsible for connecting with, engaging, and helping foster lifetime connections with the 300,000 Boston University Alumni across the globe, Alumni Relations is the first point of contact for alums looking to reconnect or engage with their alma mater.
JOB SCOPE The Alumni Relations Associate is responsible for the Esdaile Alumni Centers constituent engagement via the iModules platform, email strategy, and works closely the Associate Director, Alumni Relations in managing the Young Alumni Councils in Boston and NYC and gala planning. The Associate is also responsible for partnering with other law school departments and student affinity groups to coordinate and assist with email marketing to various alumni constituencies. S/he also oversees the acknowledgement process for all gifts made to the law school, including personalized letters for Deans Advisory Board members and major donors.
*Email Marketing and Website Management: Provides support for alumni and student affinity events directed by the Associate Director, Alumni Relations by managing the Esdaile Alumni Centers email marketing, which includes, but is not limited to the creation and management of the brand as well as all event invitations and registration pages. Track results from various emails and using data and testing, make necessary changes to the timing and language of emails. Working with the Associate Director, Alumni Relations, develop and manage a quarterly Young Alumni newsletter. Partner with other law school departments and student groups in their efforts to reach and alumni.
*Alumni Relations and Event Management: Under the supervision of the Association Director, Alumni Relations, manage the Boston and NYC Young Alumni Councils, and respond to interest from alumni in other markets who are interested in regional events. Develop pilot programs for new class agent program such as schedule of contact, strategy, and plan for program growth. Serve as key member of the team at major events such as the Silver Shingle Gala, admitted student receptions, and holiday parties. Manage the check-in process from maintain RSVP lists, creating name-tags, and maintaining an accurate account of attendees. Working with the Associate Director, Alumni Relations, manage post-event survey process. Manage 1-2 reunion committee annually.
*Firm Sponsorship Program: Manage and support various student groups and other law departments who seek sponsorships from individuals and firms for events and other programs at the Law School. Help create sponsorship programs when needed, and manage the process from initial outreach to collection of gift and recognition of the sponsor.
*Alumni Data: Manages collection and input of student and alumni data such as group memberships, awards, and career information. Provides analysis of events and marketing, and builds accurate and timely queries based on office needs.
*A bachelor's degree and 3 years of work experience.
*Outstanding oral and written communication skills are required.
*Must be extremely customer service oriented and have exceptional attention to detail.
*Prefer experience in Alumni Relations/Higher Education or in the not for profit world with significant work with high level volunteers and experience producing and managing programming content and collaterals.
*Ability to produce and manage events, including exhibiting poise and leadership under stress and fast paced environment with fluid and changing priorities.
*Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and proactively seek guidance and input from multiple project managers to meet deadlines.
