The Science Writer will assist with the scientific writing of peer reviewed publications and grant applications. Grant and proposal applications will be written for funding opportunities from the NIH, private foundations, and industry. This position will support the preparation of grant applications including the research strategy as well as supporting documentation in addition to progress reporting and review. The successful candidate will work closely with both the Director and the Clinical Director to provide appropriate guidance as it pertains to prioritization and timelines for assigned projects. Experience in writing grant applications is preferred.
Development and writing of grant proposals including scientific content, formatting, completion of required narrative elements and organization of supporting documentation.
Preparation of progress reports for ongoing projects.
Rough draft, editing and support for scientific manuscripts for publication.
1. Excellent written and verbal communication. 2. Biology background-Preference for neuroscience, genetics, clinical research 3. Excellent administrative, organizational, communication, writing, and analytical skills. 4. Ability to work independently. 5. Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel). 6. Flexibility and demonstrated competence to assess priorities, manage a variety of activities in a complex and fast-paced environment, and ability to meet deadlines with attention to detail and quality. 7. Familiarity with NIH grant formats and the forms of grant submissions. 8. Experience in the preparation of manuscripts for publication.
The selected applicant will begin as soon as possible. This is a part-time position.
