Providing supervision in the theatre performance and production support facilities of the Office of the Arts, including but not limited to, the Cutler Majestic Theatre, Paramount Theatre, Semel and Greene Theaters, Black Box Theatre, Bright Family Screening Room, Paramount Studios and scene shop. Support backstage operations and maintenance of the Office of the Arts venues. Assist facility users by providing expertise in operations as well as venue equipment. Work with technical operations team to provide superior production values in Office of the Arts. Train and supervise students as needed. assist in production advance as well as creating technical and sight line drawings for Office of the Arts productions.
Create and distribute ground plans, sight line studies and build drawings for events and productions for all OA theaters as required.
Assist in advancing all theater events and productions and providing technical expertise and supervision to said events and productions.
Supervise part time technicians and student employees for Office of the Arts venues including applying and enforcing safe working practices.
Serve as Technical Supervisor on Duty(TSoD) for shows, events, work calls and rehearsals as assigned. The TSoD will be responsible for backstage safety, implement the Emergency Evacuation Plan when necessary, communicate with Front of House personnel, communicate with outside users and crews, maintain and protect house equipment, enforce house rules, and supervise part-time Emerson employee stage crew members and stage door supervisors.
Support client production staff members by providing access to and specialized knowledge of O.A. equipment and facilities and keeping O.A. equipment operating efficiently.
To serve as master carpenter in building and assembling of scenic pieces as needed by the OA department and productions, including but not limited to applying safe working practices for all employess and students, basic scenic rigging and assisting in theater maintenance.
Scheduling of casual and student labor.
Budget estimating, tracking, and purchasing .
Demonstrable knowledge of theatrical operations and equipment.
Demonstrated knowledge in scenic construction.
Demonstrated proficiency in AutoCad drafting.
Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office.
5 Years experience in theatrical supervision and crew management.
Additional knowledge of theatrical industry safety procedure and practices.
Additional knowledge and experience with Theatrical rigging and counterweight systems.
Theatrical automation experience.
Additional knowledge of theatrical wardrobe.
