Web Developer - Friedman School of Nutrition - (19001994)
Reporting to the Director of Communications, the Web Developer position has primary responsibility for maintaining the Friedman School's web presence, which can involve everything from updating content to creating new functionality as needed. This position will interface with university level technical teams and external vendors when needed to deliver a secure and efficient environment for all of our digital properties. The developer works directly with school faculty, students, and staff to design and deliver content platforms tailored to their needs. They will design and develop new web pages/sites incorporating user-friendly interfaces and will use creativity in approaching problem-solving while building requested services. The developer will maintain and provide ongoing design of all currently existing websites, including implementing marketing functionality, the creation of special content, and custom designs for clients.
This position relies on pre-established web and style guidelines, but has some independent creativity and latitude to perform job functions. May lead or participate on discrete project teams for affiliated and grant project sites.
Minimum Required Experience:
BA/BS and 2-3 years of related experience.
Additional Preferred Experience and Education;
Knowledge of LAMP stack and basic Apache setup in order to easily collaborate with the university system administrators.
Experience working with APIs and Drupal/WordPress.
Experience with Git and Git workflows.
Adobe Creative Suite/Other graphic software, for occasional altering/tweaking of assets as needed.
