The University of Missouri-St. Louis (UMSL) invites applications, nominations and inquiries for the position of the Hubert C. Moog Endowed Nursing Professorship for the College of Nursing. UMSL College of Nursing seeks a visionary and a dynamic preeminent nursing scholar who will advance thinking in nursing research, education, and practice. The Moog Professor will maintain an active program of research and contribute to stimulating expansion of the research enterprise within the College of Nursing and teaching in his or her area of expertise.
The Hubert C. Moog Endowed Nursing Professorship will report to the Dean. The position is funded through the Hubert C. Moog Endowed Nursing Professorship fund.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION
The responsibilities of this position are listed below.
Maintain his/her own active program of extramurally funded research.
Provide leadership to promote a research and scholarship culture within the College of Nursing;
Mentor faculty in development of a program of research;
Mentor doctoral students in development as scholars;
Foster collaborative research initiatives within nursing as well as interdisciplinary and interprofessional research;
Teach in the graduate or undergraduate programs as related to his or her area of expertise; and
Provide service to College and University committees and as a member of the profession.
QUALIFICATIONS OF THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
Doctorate in nursing or a related field.
Track record of extramurally funded research indicative of the potential to sustain a program of research.
Evidence of the ability to collaborate effectively with nursing and interprofessional colleagues.
Evidence of the ability to mentor others.
Academic experience and scholarly accomplishments indicative of future scholarly potential, and as appropriate for rank.
Licensure as a registered nurse in Missouri prior to employment.
