The Applications Administrator will work collaboratively with stakeholders in the Tufts Dental/Medical/Veterinary Schools and Dental/Veterinary Remote Facilities to design, configure, and support axiUm/StringSoft, the electronic health system(s) of record for patient care, and other systems supporting the Schools and satellite clinics serving patients and persons with special needs. Key responsibilities of this position include: executing day-to-day configuration, testing, training, maintenance and general application support of the axiUm/StringSoft platform and other supporting systems; installing software and related components, upgrades and patches; continually monitoring system health; providing security administration support; monitoring daily job scheduling and addressing related issue resolution; providing troubleshooting and support to all users of the clinical systems; performing quality assurance and ensuring adherence to organizational standards and software development best practices; and performing daily administrative tasks. This position will help address and solve critical business and functional problems and act as the primary technical expert by providing consulting and expertise to the satellite facilities including Tufts Dental Facilities for Persons with Special Needs Clinic.
Skills and knowledge typically acquired through a Bachelor's Degree with 3+ years of relevant technical experience and at least 2 years of technical experience with health care specific systems.
Knowledge including configuration and support experience of administration functions including profiles, roles, sharing rules, groups, permissions, security, fields, page layouts, record types, validation rules, data management, reporting, dashboards, workflow, triggers and assignment rules, and managing communities.
Ability to analyze business needs and design, configure and deliver solutions; document best practices and operational procedures, and maintain/enhance data integrity.
Strong organizational, communication, presentation and time management skills; demonstrated ability to multi-task, set goals and priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment and under pressure from multiple competing deadlines; ability to exercise sound judgment in proactive problem-solving.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively in a team environment; demonstrated ability to work effectively across teams to achieve organizational and/or project goals, as well as troubleshoot and problem-solve. Ability to provide instruction to audiences of varying technical backgrounds.
Previous experience in higher education.
Experience working closely with functional/business leaders in clinical operations or in health care.
Experience working with vendors/partners to configure/develop software applications externally.
