DIRECTOR OF USER EXPERIENCE , edX , to be responsible for the end-to-end customer experience of edX products and for defining its UX vision and strategy. Will focus on ensuring great experiences through design and design thinking across all customer touch points. Will work with product delivery teams to define and execute on the end-to-end customer experience at the macro and micro interaction levels; define and communicate critical KPIs, metrics, and business outcomes that deliver an ROI to the organization; create an environment that encourages full exploration of a problem space and employ design reasoning to take broad views and frame novel approaches to drive a hypothesis-driven discovery process; nurture a research-based approach that enables teams to quickly and deeply understand customers and use those insights to devise a customer-centric POV; and resolve complexities and paradoxes within the customer problem space.
Job Requirements REQUIRED : bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction, or related area; ten years' experience in information architecture/user experience design for a web or mobile app; five years' experience managing small-to-medium size multidisciplinary teams; fluency with analytics, usability tests, and other forms of qualitative and quantitative feedback and multidisciplinary educational backgrounds (e.g., psychology, computer science, information sciences, commerce/business library science, human-computer interaction, etc.); UX track record of high-quality solutions addressing user problems and business goals; fluency with information architecture and design best practices; solid knowledge of usability principles and techniques; experience working within Agile development methodologies; ability to collaborate with technical teams to ensure designs work in enterprise frameworks; and familiarity with user experience patterns across iOS and Android platforms and with responsive frameworks.
