Position: Part-time Community Engagement Manager (20 hours/week) Location: Chestnut Hill, MA / Mattapan, MA Announcement: September 3, 2019 Start Date: December 1, 2019 The Corcoran Center for Real Estate and Urban Action seeks a Community Engagement Manager to build on community collaboration efforts initiated in the neighborhood of Mattapan. The goal of this effort is to develop and strengthen academic, clinical, service-learning and connections with the neighborhood of Mattapan. Reporting to the Center Assistant Director, the Community Engagement Manager will work with resident groups, community based organizations, nonprofit organizations, government programs, and corporations to foster collaboration with Boston College students, faculty, staff, and programs. Activities: Connect neighborhood-based activities to leaders of academic, service learning, research, and volunteer activities at Boston College Research, write, and disseminate scopes of work that outline opportunity for community engagement based on community generated needs and interests Actively support and partner with Corcoran Center leadership and Boston College groups to coordinate student/faculty support to organizations and initiatives in the Mattapan neighborhood Meet regularly with Boston College stakeholders to report progress against objectives Assist Center Assistant Director with effective coordination and executive of neighborhood-focused events, both on-campus and in Mattapan Manage day-to-day relationships with neighborhood partners, develop relationships with new partners, and serve as a liaison between Boston College and the community Other tasks as assigned Personal Characteristics: Entrepreneurial, interested in developing new relationships Community-focused, excellent listening skills, self-driven, strong communicator Must possess reliable transportation. Bachelor's degree & (1-5) years relevant experience in community relations/outreach Experience with collaboration software (e.g. Zoom) is a plus
