Administrative/Support, Career Education/Services, Staff/Administrative
Support the effort in Career and Life Planning to respond to applications for internships associated with graduate programs, particularly those related to the Executive MBA and Executive IT and Cybersecurity programs. Update information on the NEC College Central Network, and promote the Network to students and alumni. Maintain employer and internship databases; create and distribute CLP publicity.
• Respond to incoming graduate internship applications and assist students with the internship approval process; • Ensure student completion of internship-related paperwork and conduct follow-up as needed; • Review student internship contracts and complete research regarding internship sites; • Obtain appropriate signatures on the application documents, and distribute applications to appropriate departments; • Answer questions from applicants, and resolve problems; provide exceptional “customer service” to applicants; • Partner with the offices of Graduate Admissions and International Advising to ensure an efficient process, from application to acceptance and I20 completion; • Update employer, student and alumni registrants on the NEC College Central Network (CCN). Promote the Network by bulk uploading students and by other means; • Update employer and internship databases; • Respond to employer job postings by referring them to the NECCCN; distribute postings to appropriate students and faculty; • Create flyers and posters to advertise CLP events; • Maintain a bulletin board to be updated bi-weekly.
Education • Bachelors degree required
Experience • Successful candidate will have prior experience managing data and in office organization. Two or more years work experience in job training, human resources, and/or education is preferred. • Experience with Windows software, including Office 365 and Excel is required. • Experience with Blackboard, Moodle and Adobe preferred.
Skills & Knowledge • Ability to make decisions independently as well as a collaboratively. • Ability to present oneself professionally to a variety of constituencies. • Strong communication skills; both oral and written communication. • Keen attention to detail and to manage multiple projects at one time. • Must have professional experience, in social media platforms. • Familiar to proficient in Adobe and or Publisher in order to create flyers and publicity
