Dishroom Supervisor Basic Function and Responsibility Supervises and participates in the operation of a dish machine and pot machine including, the directing of utility staff, the cleaning and transporting of dishes, glassware, silver, utensils, pots and pans. Ensures the proper handling and use of detergents and cleaning solvents and the efficient operation and maintenance of equipment. Moderately heavy lifting is necessary.
Characteristic Duties -Supervises and participates in the setting up of the dish machine and for the cleaning and sorting of dishes, glassware, silver and utensils.
-Assists with oral and written evaluation of support staff.
-Inspects the machine for cleanliness and proper operation, temperature and the proper use of detergents and cleaning solvents.
-Monitors and trains staff for appropriate equipment maintenance and safety.
-Assigns and schedules tasks of support personnel.
-Trains and instructs support personnel to ensure compliance of safety, sanitation, and health standards.
-Monitors and inspects completed work. Directs special cleaning needs.
-Monitors and manages trash, recycle, and compost.
-Inventory and prepares china, glass, utensil and other equipment orders for catered functions.
-Directs and participates in the cleaning and neatness of the dish/pot washing area, dining room servery, and kitchen.
-Performs other related duties as assigned.
Supervision Received Reports to Assistant Manager or Assistant General Manager.
Supervision Exercised Directs the activity of support staff (varies according to location).

Qualifications Education: High School diploma preferred. Additional relevant experience substitute for education. NRA ServSafe certification required and MRA Allergen certification preferred
Experience: 2-3 years? previous dishroom experience with supervision.
Skills: Needs to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume operation with a diverse staff. Able to read, write, and perform basic math calculations. Able to follow verbal and written instructions. Bilingual communication in English and Spanish desirable. Must be able to lift moderately heavy objects, up to 50 pounds on an on-going basis.
