Middlebury College seeks a Compensation Specialist to be responsible for the administration of the College's staff compensation programs, including compliance, job evaluation, new hire and job change salary offers, FLSA determination, maintenance of the job description database, and coordination of the annual merit increase process. This position provides advice, training, and support to College community, as appropriate, in the development and application of compensation management principles, guidelines, procedures, and best practices.
B.S. in Human Resources or related field or equivalent experience. SHRM, HRCI or World at Work (CCP) certification preferred. At least 8 years of HR experience with 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Must have strong proficiency in use of report-writing tools; strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to gather and analyze statistical data and generate reports; excellent customer service skills; knowledge of job analysis and job evaluation principles, methods, and procedures; skill in developing policy and procedure documentation; knowledge of compensation administration principles and procedures, and knowledge of federal and state wage and salary laws and regulations.
