FACILITIES AND OPERATIONS ADMINISTRATOR , Brain and Cognitive Sciences (BCS) , to support all occupants of the Brain and Cognitive Sciences Complex (BCS/McGovern/Picower) in the identification, prioritization, and resolution of all issues related to building management, facilities, and infrastructure. Areas of purview include security, maintenance, cleaning, renovation, safety, and compliance. Responsibilities include serving as interface between building occupants and relevant MIT organizations including Facilities, Card Office, IS, Telecommunications, etc.; serving as first point of contact for building maintenance and repair issues; assessing issues related to building systems, coordinating repair and maintenance of these systems, and ensuring completion of service calls; managing communications between other MIT groups and building occupants by providing notice of any activities affecting normal building function; working with environment health and safety coordinator on EHS-related initiatives and tasks; coordinating all security-related initiatives and ensuring the maintenance of building and lab security; acting as client advocate on space change/renovation requests; working with Facilities to manage construction needs, ensuring best results with least disruption to building activities; consulting and advising in test space areas within the Division of Comparative Medicine facility; and performing other duties as assigned. There will be regular contact with building occupants, supervisors and employees of MIT Facilities, EHS coordinator, MIT Card Office, Campus Police, outside contractors, and consultants.
REQUIRED : high school diploma or its equivalent and ten years' related experience or a bachelor's degree and five years; strong working knowledge of building systems, issues, and resolutions; excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills; initiative; and ability to simultaneously manage and prioritize a large number of projects/issues in a complex organizational environment.
