As part of the graduate recruitment team, this position recruits and enrolls incoming graduate students as part of the overall admissions plan. The Admission Counselor is responsible for achieving enrollment goals for assigned programs. Travel as well as nights/weekend hours are an expected part of this position. Critical components of this position are communicating effectively and providing accurate information about New England College’s many graduate degrees, graduate certificates, and accelerated programs, admission policies and standards, and application processes.
Work with prospective students and applicants via email, phone, and in person to provide exceptional service;
Engage in outreach campaigns to potential students to help generate a flow of applicants;
Work closely with Program Managers to collaborate on meeting program recruitment goals;
Advise prospective students to determine their educational goals and actively guide them through each phase of the admissions process;
Use technology to better communicate with a large online applicant population;
Process leads and applications through Banner and CRM;
Monitor application files to ensure they are complete and ready for review;
Evaluate application files in order to make application decisions;
Use critical thinking and problem solving skills to address and resolve student issues and ensure positive student experiences. Address potential and/or current student concerns and seek appropriate resolution to problems.
Identify innovative ways to effectively create awareness of our graduate programs, both on campus and online programs;
Plan and participate in on- and off-campus programs hosted by the College to recruit students;
Assists in the revision of Graduate Admission literature;
Prepare a variety of correspondence and published materials as part of total promotional plan for admissions;
Collect and analyze data as part of ongoing assessment of recruitment program success and new development in the marketplace.

Must be comfortable working in a fast paced and multi-tasking environment;
Should be detail-oriented, and have the ability to organize effectively;
Must demonstrate ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team;
Ability to resolve problems and to develop relevant alternatives and recommendations;
Minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience in an admissions or inside sales environment.
Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred);
Experience working with an online student population;
Experience with Banner and a CRM tool is preferred;
Experience working with a multi-cultural population is preferred.
