The Ohio State University College of Dentistry is seeking an Information Associate for its Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Anesthesiology (OMFS). OMFS offers a full scope of surgical techniques for a variety of problems of the face and mouth. Many of our faculty surgeons have particular expertise in select sub-specialties, including temporomandibular disorder, nerve repair, orthognathic surgery, and cleft lip and palate repair.
The Ohio State University College of Dentistry is the fourth largest public dental school in the United States and it is the only public dental school in Ohio. The college is divided into ten divisions with all major ADA-recognized dental specialties represented. The College has approximately 600 students in its undergraduate and graduate programs.
Functions as an integral member in conjunction with a team of care providers in the College of Dentistry Oral Surgery Division. Provides patient focused customer service and clerical support in collaboration with other members of the patient focused care team. Overall responsibilities include patient scheduling, patient check-in and registration, patient check-out and financial estimates, treatment planning, coordinating with care team, disseminating information to the care team, data entry, routing calls, returning phone messages, and record management.
Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
This position requires successful completion of a criminal background check and drug and alcohol screening.
Work is performed primarily in an office environment and the employee in this class is subject to inside environmental conditions. This position requires sustained periods using a keyboard and performing other computer work. Requires sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, which permits the employee to function in a general office environment to accomplish tasks.

One year of experience (1000 hours of course work or training) in customer service or communications, including analyzing and interpreting information; six months of experience (600 hours of training) in operation of computer and related peripheral equipment; three months of experience (300 hours of course work) in information research and analysis.
Knowledge of dental terminology and dental practices and procedures; demonstrated multi-tasking experience; experience communicating effectively with a diverse population of customers; detail oriented.
