The House Manager (HM) will provide supervision and customer service in the lobbies and auditoriums of the Touhill Performing Arts Center. The HM will be expected to supervise houses in a variety of sizes including general admission ticketed and non-ticketed environments.
Provide leadership for the front-of-house staff.
Oversee front-of-house operations for an event and ensure that issues are quickly addressed and remediated.
Work with Assistant House Managers, Volunteers and Student Assistants to provide a safe and enjoyable live event experience for a wide variety of patrons.
Work to resolve any customer service issues that may arise during an event including customer complaints and seating disputes.
Pleasantly enforce policies and procedures.
At all times, whether dealing with patrons, staff, or UMSL personnel, the Assistant House Manager is to conduct themselves in a professional manner and keep in mind that they are representing the Touhill Performing Arts Center and the University of Missouri-St. Louis and act accordingly.
Must be able to move 60 pounds to move theatre seats, boxes of programs and FOH equipment.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time as well as walk up and down stairs.
A high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities can be acquired is necessary
Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access as well as email, internet, etc.
Must be willing to work flexible hours including early mornings, nights, and weekends.
First aid and emergency response training.
Customer service or retail experience.
Proven experience of a friendly and customer focused attitude while being able to enforce standards.
Ticket selling experience.
Crowd Security training and experience.
