The Mathematics Department at Stonehill College invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position to begin July 2020. The department offers a B.S. in mathematics as well as a B.A. in mathematics for double majors in education. In addition, the department also contributes to an interdisciplinary program in data science. The successful candidate will join a department of six full-time faculty with a wide range of disciplinary expertise and a commitment to fostering diversity among faculty and students.
We seek applicants who are committed to excellence in teaching, advising, and mentoring undergraduates in research, and who have a demonstrated awareness of the importance of diversity in education. We are particularly interested in candidates who can contribute to our new program in data science.
Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in mathematics, applied mathematics, statistics or a related discipline. Preference will be given to those who have some undergraduate teaching experience. Primary duties include teaching all levels of mathematics, advising students, college and departmental service, and maintaining an appropriate research agenda. Opportunities to work with students on research projects will also be available to candidates interested in this prospect.
