The Department of Psychology at Salve Regina University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor to teach undergraduate courses in and related to Applied Behavior Analysis to begin in Fall 2020. Minimum requirements are a Ph.D. in Psychology and board certification as a Behavior Analyst (BCBA or BCBA-D). The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in Learning and Behavior, Applied Behavior Analysis, Behavior Ethics, etc. and where needed graduate courses in the ABA Master's program. This position includes responsibilities of advising, research, and committee work/service as defined for an assistant professor. Salve Regina University has a growing ABA program that includes the only 5th-year ABA program in the country. The ABA Program at Salve Regina is affiliated with two board-approved field placement sites. Candidates should be interested in supervising students in placements and engaging students in research.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Vision and Leadership
The Assistant Professor in consultation with the VCS Coordinator and the ABA Program Director, will be the point of contact between the undergraduate ABA sequenced coursework and the ABA 5th year graduate program.
Teaching and Research
The Assistant Professor will have a teaching load of 7 courses a year; 3 one semester and 4 the other semester with opportunities to teach in the summer in the Graduate ABA Program if desired. Primary teaching will be in the undergraduate psychology department with secondary teaching responsibilities in the Graduate ABA Program as needed. The University will encourage and support active research.
Doctoral degree in a psychology with a specialization in Applied Behavior Analysis and board certification as a BCBA and/or BCBA-D.
Significant relevant professional experience, and experience in an academic environment.
Candidates with experience in curriculum review, curriculum development, and who are familiar with, or worked in programs with a Verified Course Sequence, at the Undergraduate and Graduate level, are highly preferred.
The successful candidate will qualify for appointment to a tenure track position at the rank of Assistant, Associate or full Professor, depending on qualifications.
