SENIOR REAL ESTATE OFFICER , MIT Investment Management Company (MITIMCo) , to participate in fostering a new, innovative, and collaborative environment in support of MIT's mission. Will manage development projects, including ground-up capital projects, renovation projects, and turnkey fit outs, from feasibility analysis to final completion. Project responsibilities include financial underwriting, investment/risk analysis, due diligence, conceptual planning, design, permitting, leasing, contracting, and construction. Will also support other real estate investment staff in acquisitions, financing, dispositions, asset management, and portfolio management. MITIMCo manages over $18 billion for the Institute's endowment, retirement plan, and other pools of capital. Its Real Estate Group serves as an owner, operator, and developer of a high profile real estate portfolio located exclusively in Cambridge.
REQUIRED : bachelor's degree, preferably in real estate, architecture, urban planning, finance, business administration, construction management, or related field; at least three years' relevant experience in urban commercial real estate development, real estate investment, construction management, architecture, and/or engineering; experience with the development of urban mid-rise and high-rise office, laboratory, and/or residential projects in mixed-use environments; ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment; proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Microsoft Project; excellent quantitative, analytical, interpersonal, and oral and written communication skills; self-motivation; ability to shift between projects as new priorities emerge in a fast-paced environment; comfort working through an iterative process and interacting with high-level executives; ability to independently resolve complex problems in a thorough and timely manner, determining the appropriate course of action with relevant stakeholders; and discretion and good judgment with confidential information/issues.
