The Konry Lab http://www.northeastern.edu/konrylab/ is looking for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to join our multidisciplinary project in Single Cell studies. The project is conducted in collaboration with HMS and Tufts medical center. The Postdoctoral Research Associate will perform basic or applied research of a limited scope, primarily using existing theories and methods and assist the supervisor in the interpretation and publication of results and grants. The primary responsibility is ensuring that the research is complete. He or she should be motivated, able to work well in teams, and have excellent communication skills. Potential areas of application include: microfluidics, cell culture, microscope operation, molecular biology and immunology, assay and bio assay development, biomarker analysis, biosensors and diagnostic devices/tools development.
Must have a Ph.D. or equivalent; be able to undertake substantially full-time research or scholarship and work under the supervision of a senior scholar. The candidate should have a strong background in a bioengineering field such as microfluidics or tissue engineering and a reasonable working knowledge of polymers, immunology and molecular biology. Candidates with a background in biology or chemistry and those who demonstrate competence in biotechnology engineering will also be considered.
Additional requirements include experience in: microfluidics design, fabrication and operation of LOC devices, bioassay development, image analysis, cell culture and single cell analysis, strong writing skills, ability to multitask and mathematical modeling.
