The Department of History at New England College seeks a part-time instructor to teach (in the fall 2019 term) one section of Western Civilization to 1500.
An introductory survey of European history from pre-history to the eve of the Reformation. Themes of this course include the nature of civilizations, the iconic ideas of the classical age, and the rise of Judeo-Christianity. Politics, art and literature, war and plague, from the fall of Rome through the Medieval emergence of European states and the Renaissance.
Existing syllabus will be the guide to content. Tasks include attendance reporting and ongoing student success monitoring; minimum office hours required.
This is a face to face course; days of the week and course time are negotiable. Development and use of supplemental online resources in the Blackboard LMS is required.

M.A. in History or a cognate field; Teaching experience.
