STRATEGIC SOURCING ANALYST, SMALL AND DIVERSE BUSINESS , Office of the Vice President for Finance (VPF)-Strategic Sourcing , to serve as the lead analyst supporting VPF's efforts to increase equity and inclusion by leveraging annual buying power, with a focus on increasing opportunities for diverse firms including small and local businesses, women- and minority-owned businesses, and veteran-owned businesses (SB/WMVB). Will connect MIT employees/faculty/students with new market choices, highlighting the above-named businesses categories which may offer customized solutions to MIT's purchasing needs; develop a strategy and then implement outreach plans, working collaboratively across MIT to achieve objectives.
The position is ideal for someone who shares a commitment to improving access for small, diverse, and underrepresented businesses to procurement opportunities.
REQUIRED : bachelor's degree in a related field; at least three years' experience in procurement or related area and delivering first-rate customer service to a broad constituency; interest in engaging small and diverse businesses; excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills, including ability to prepare reports and give presentations; proficiency with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; flexibility; and effective judgment, tact, and discretion with sensitive matters. Must be able to cultivate and maintain constructive relationships with a variety of key internal and external stakeholders; analyze and synthesize information in a concise manner and make recommendations to resolve issues; and reprioritize workload as necessary. Professional experience with the following preferred: business diversity programs, marketing, and/or outreach; executing programs or policies designed to support inclusion and equity; inclusion efforts within government or higher education; marketing programs that recognize and address the needs of customers and suppliers.
