We are seeking a post-doctoral researcher for a position in the St. Anthony Falls Laboratory. The successful candidate will perform research in one or more of the following areas: computational fluid dynamics, turbulence, water waves, and applications of fluid mechanics research in renewable energy, environment, and geophysical fluid flows. Responsibilities include conducting computational and theoretical fluid mechanics research, publishing scientific papers, and assisting supervisor in grant application and project reporting, and helping supervise students. The initial appointment is for the period of one year. The appointment is renewable up to six years in total, pending the availability of funds and satisfactory performance and progress review.
Required/Preferred Qualifications: Candidate must have a PhD degree in mechanical engineering, mechanics, aerospace engineering, civil and environment engineering, applied mathematics, physics, atmospheric science, physical oceanography, or a related field. Experience with computational and theoretical fluid mechanics research is required.
Preferred Qualifications: Excellent oral and written communication skills in English are preferred along with a strong publication record.
