The School of Physical Therapy invites applications for a 12-month faculty position for a skilled educator and clinician, engaging in teaching, scholarship, and service activities as defined in the Faculty Manual.Responsibilities: Participate in teaching selected classroom and laboratory classes. Engage in teaching, scholarship, and service activities as defined in the Faculty Manual. Maintain a program of scholarly productivity appropriate to academic rank. Participate in clinical related activities as designated by the Program Director of the School of Physical Therapy. Participate in the implementation and evaluation of the curriculum for physical therapy education that conforms to MCPHS and School of Physical Therapy policies and procedures. Provide supervision, instruction, advice and counsel to students assigned to the didactic phase and thereby facilitate the students? successful completion of all learning objectives. Maintain accurate and appropriate records, assist with periodic accreditation reports, accreditation site visits, and ongoing program evaluation. Represent the DPT Program through participation in service activities of the MCPHS School of Physical Therapy. Identify sources for and participate in the preparation and implementation of grants and contracts supportive of the activities of the School. Serve on MCPHS University and School of Physical Therapy specific faculty committees when appointed or elected. Participate in local, state, and national professional organizations for professional development, and to ensure program excellence and appropriateness of curriculum and instruction and its application to clinical instruction.Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the Program Director of the School of Physical Therapy.Rank is commensurate with education and experience. Qualifications:Required: Current physical therapist licensure or eligibility for Massachusetts state licensure Doctorate (DPT) from a CAPTE-accredited institution required Academic doctorate (PhD, EdD, ScD) preferred. Candidates without an academic doctorate would be required to enroll in an academic doctorate program at an accredited institution within two years of hire. A minimum of three to five years of clinical experience as a licensed physical therapist Teaching experience at the post-baccalaureate level required Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, and with a variety of professionals within the University or clinical setting, and make significant contributions to the success outcome of the projects/assignmentsPreferred: Expertise in at least one of the following areas of teaching: evidence-based practice, neurologic, pediatric; ability to teach in a variety of content areas.
