About the Position
As our temporary custodian, you will perform custodial assignments necessary to maintain the cleanliness and care of the facilities including academic, residential, and athletic.
A basic list of responsibilities includes:
Checking fixtures and making note of damage
Interim floor and carpet care
Spot cleaning of carpets
Cleaning door glass
Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Operating cleaning equipment such as buffers, wet vacuums, and other floor machines
Cleaning lockers and benches
Setting up and removing furniture
Assisting as required with snow removal
Mixing chemicals for cleaning
Disinfecting, cleaning and sanitizing
Stripping, cleaning, buffing and applying finish to floors
High school graduate or equivalent
Effectively read, write and follow oral and/or written instructions as provided by management
Effective communication skills
Ability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation
Experience in housekeeping, janitorial, general or building maintenance or custodial work in an educational environment
Proven ability to work independently and in groups
Effective 01/01/2019 - $12.74/hour
This position is covered by a Washington Federation of State Employees bargaining union. Hires are required to meet the membership requirements of the current collective bargaining agreement at 350 hours worked.
