The National Superconducting Cyclotron Laboratory (NSCL) is seeking a highly qualified individual for a Postdoctoral Fellowship in nuclear theory, with a specialization in ab-initio many-body theory and nuclear density functional theory. The successful applicant will be expected to work on both the development of microscopically-motivated energy density functionals, using ab-initio many-body theory, and their implementation for large-scale calculations of nuclei.
Doctorate -Nuclear Physics
Ph.D. in Nuclear Physics
Experience with ab-initio many-body theory
Experience in regularization and renormalization techniques for effective field theory treatments of strongly-interacting fermionic systems
Experience with formal and computational aspects of density functional theory
Ability to work with export controlled technologies
