GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of telephone switch equipment, telephony networks and related software peripherals. Prepares and maintains documentation for switch operations, office installations, wiring diagrams, as well as maintenance of fixed assets inventories.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
Install and replace switch components and configure them for line layout.
Configure handset settings for proper operation.
Load designated software and configure settings for inter-operability.
Install telephone and network wiring and test for continuity.
Install and configure telephone user accounts, access authorizations, directory structures, roaming configurations, speed dial and outside routing of calls.
Design and write batch files and programs for telephony reporting.
Perform and document switch backups.
Schedule outside repair services and replacements, as needed.
Prepare reports, as assigned.
In-depth knowledge of Mitel phone switches, voice mail, call routing, and IP & E911 at multiple locations.
Knowledge of the materials, parts, and supplies used in the operation and repair of switch equipment and related peripherals.
Two years' telephony provisioning experience (voice & data).
Knowledge of Windows based software and PC functions.
Ability to work with MS Excel & MS Word applications.
Valid Massachusetts driver's license.
COMPENSATION: $17.50 per hour, 18 hours per week. Part-time, non-benefited, non-unit position.
