ASSISTANT DEAN FOR DEVELOPMENT , Schwarzman College of Computing(SCC) , to create and execute a comprehensive strategic development plan designed to raise financial support and awareness for the SCC and its academic units and programs. May work with the head of units/programs to assess and seek support for additional project-based fund-raising initiatives. Will partner with Resource Development to develop and execute a comprehensive strategic plan for engagement of current donors to respective units and work collaboratively to strategize and plan donor cultivation, recognition, and stewardship. This position offers a unique opportunity to partner with a visionary leader; secure funds to support critical new initiatives and investments in new ideas; and provide faculty, students, and investigators with the resources needed to realize their ambitious educational and research endeavors.
REQUIRED : bachelor's degree (advanced degree preferred); at least ten years' direct fund-raising experience, preferably in higher education; at least four years' experience supervising staff, setting goals, and managing performance and budgets; exceptional communication skills; ability to translate academic/technical/research information for all audiences; clarity, crispness, and persuasiveness in written/oral presentations; superior interpersonal skills; ability to engage effectively with faculty, leadership, staff, donors, and alumni, and other constituents in a complex environment and new college within that environment; experience working closely with and engaging senior leaders; discretion with confidential information; and high-level of computer competency with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Must be able to anticipate challenges/ obstacles and execute strategic and effective solutions; manage multiple projects simultaneously; engage and leverage the dean, department heads, and faculty cultivating and soliciting high-net-worth individuals; and work independently and as a team member.
