The surgery assistant position consists of assisting all Oral Surgeons including residents with surgery in a clinic and operating room setting. They must maintain all operatories to ensure smooth patient flow. Assistants must be certified to take radiographs and be knowledgeable about university and privacy policies. They must also provide a comfortable environment for patients.
Maintains operatories, including cleaning rooms before and after patients using proper infection control techniques. Keeps rooms fully stocked with all necessary supplies. Sterilizes all instruments used throughout the day.
Takes radiographs. Possesses knowledge of radiology and equipment use and safety.
Assists with surgery including set-up and break-down of operatories. Monitors patients during and after IV sedation.
Schedule patients and informs them of fees.
