We in the Complex Care Service at Boston Children's Hospital are searching for a Clinical Research Assistant II to help us conduct on-going work that is striving to optimize the health, wellbeing, and quality of life of our pediatric patients. The children in our service are challenged to live with serious, complex chronic health conditions.
This Clinical Research Assistant II will be responsible for:
Interacting with patients, their families, and clinicians in the hospital and beyond.
Screening, consenting, recruitment, and selection of patients for studies.
Serving as liaison for projects involving other participating hospitals.
Performing literature searches and managing bibliographies.
Preparing IRB documentation and submissions.
Helping to maintain large, administrative health databases.
Collecting data and preparing analytical reports of study findings.
Writing articles and summary papers for submission to medical journals.
Helping with presentations and other dissemination activities.
To qualify, you must have:
The knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree preferably in a Life, Health, or Social Sciences field., and a minimum of one year of relevant work experience.
Experience with the responsibilities listed above.
A knack for teamwork with individuals from a variety of clinical and research backgrounds, including hospital medicine, surgery, anesthesiology, and outpatient.
Empathy for children living with complex medical conditions as well as their families.
Comfort working in a fast-paced clinical environment with sick patients.
A strong work ethic.
Excellent organization, writing, and communication skills.
The analytical skills to gather and interpret data and research findings.
The ability to prioritize assignments and become familiar with new topics quickly and attentiveness to details.
Willingness to make at least a 1 year commitment.
Willingness to start on or about July 2019 or sooner.
