Under general supervision, the Billing Coordinator is responsible for providing excellent customer service in creating and submitting patient charges and claims to 3rd party dental insurance companies, reviewing claims and charges for accuracy, resubmitting and/or appealing denied claims, posting payments and adjustments to patients' accounts, answering complex patient inquiries and working on aged patient accounts. This individual intakes patient information, verifies insurance, consults in planning treatment schedules and performs other related duties to assist in the management of patient accounts and billing
Typically a High School degree/GED and 3-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area and knowledge of dental/medical billing software.
Dental Coder Certification required
Working knowledge of dental/medical billing software, codes and Microsoft Office along with dental terminology and 3rd party billing.
Excellent communication skills and customer service focus while dealing with patients and other customers.
