EVENT/PROGRAM ASSOCIATE , Open Space Programming , to perform complex and diverse duties in support of open space programming events and activities. The open, outdoor spaces in Kendall Square will be vibrant, exciting, welcoming areas. Will assist with coordinating high-profile outdoor public programs/events, including developing promotional lists/materials, confirming attendees, ordering refreshments, etc.; coordinate and gather input from multiple stakeholders/collaborators; serve as information resource and coordinate email promotions for events/programs; work with vendors/internal resources on audiovisual equipment, catering, cleaning, parking, security, etc.; attend events/programs and welcome guests; handle database management; update website and social media content; collaborate on promoting programming throughout the MIT/Kendall/Cambridge communities; make travel arrangements; schedule complex appointments/meetings, arranging rooms, audio-visual, and catering as needed; attend high-level event/program meetings, recording, interpreting, drafting, and distributing minutes; compose and edit correspondence and other documents and promotional materials; write content for and design presentation materials; develop, monitor, and reconcile budgets; make account projections; prepare and process purchasing/accounting forms; assist with budget management, e.g., running reports and recordkeeping; pay voices and verify procurement card transactions; maintain supplies and files; and perform other duties as assigned. Will report to the director.
REQUIRED : high school diploma or its equivalent; five years' related experience; excellent organizational, interpersonal, and written and verbal communication skills; experience working with the public; detail-orientation; ability prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines, work with minimal supervision, and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment; commitment to inclusive practices and meaningful community engagement; and experience with technology, particularly customer relationship management systems and electronic calendars. Bachelor's degree preferred. STEAM education and/or public programs experience helpful. Experience working at MIT and/or in Cambridge a plus. Job #17147-6

Hourly Pay Range: $24.04 - $31.25
