Early Learning Center (ELC) at Bellevue College is seeking qualified individuals to fill two (2) Early Childhood Specialist 2. Under general direction, assume responsibility for assigned teaching duties and the daily operations of assigned classroom(s). Plan and provide children with a learning environment and varied experiences helping them develop in all areas in a manner appropriate to their age and stage of development while supporting a family partnership. Duties will be performed in classrooms, on playground, in meetings, and on field trips. In accordance with the ELC mission, philosophy, and policies, provide quality programming to meet the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical needs of children within a group setting.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/TYPICAL DUTIES
Plan, implement, post and evaluate curriculum and activities both indoors and out, based on individual and group development.
Work directly with children and families on individual and group needs, guidance, transitions, and emotional support.
Observe and document individual children's growth and development.
Establish and maintain positive partnerships with Center families through daily verbal interactions, written communication, and conferences.
Initiate and maintain respectful interactions and relationships with children, staying engaged and supporting their ongoing growth and development. Teach and support conflict resolution and problem solving.
Continually move throughout classroom and playground areas, using visual & auditory supervision, to work and communicate directly with children on individual and group needs.
Work with teaching team to initiate and revise classroom schedule, limits and guidelines.
Complete and maintain accurate reports, records, lesson plans, portfolios/journals, supply inventory, and other classrooms records/materials as required.
Help guide, train and provide technical assistance to assigned student aids and lab students.
Be familiar with and adhere to all WA State Licensing Standards.
Understand and follow center policies, procedures and philosophy.
In conjunction with other center staff, assume responsibility for care and safety of all children in the Center.
Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.
30 quarter credit hours in early childhood development/education/or related field and one year of experience in an early childhood program.
In Head Start classrooms, AA/AAS degree with 45 credit hours in early childhood education with experience.
Ability to relate and communicate respectfully and effectively with children, families, community members and staff of diverse ages, backgrounds, and abilities.
Ability to be responsive to the needs of a diverse student population and community.
Ability to work as a member of a teaching team.
Specific Job Requirements:
Ability to meet minimum licensing requirements for WA Dept of Early Learning (DEL).
Have or obtain within 90 days of hiring, current infant/child CPR; Basic First Aid; & Blood Borne Pathogen/HIV training and provide documentation.
Proof of current, negative TB skin test.
Ability to safely supervise groups of children and their activities by standing, walking, reaching, sitting (on floor, small chairs, &/or outdoors), frequent stooping, and lifting up to 40 pounds.
