General Statement of Duties: The test proctor is expected to provide support to the Chief Examiner and Testing Supervisor during the administrations of the computer and paper base test. Provide administrative support and assistance to the Chief Examiner/Testing Supervisor; Check students registration confirmation and their valid identification; Collect electronic devices and study guides to store in secure lockers; Closely monitor the test session for disruptive behavior, cheating or testing irregularities; Download student check-in information to the ETS/ HiSETï¿½ website.
Responsibilities: Arrange testing rooms; answer test taker's general (procedural) questions; check examinees registration confirmation and valid identification; Direct test takers to their specific seats; distribute and collect test books to and from each test taker individually; walk around the room frequently to guard against improper conduct and to ensure that every test taker is working on the appropriate section of the test; check that test takers are gridding their answers properly on their answer sheet and are not making on their test booklets; Check restrooms immediately after the test begins, and periodically thereafter, to be sure that the rooms contain no testing aids (for example, books, notes, writing on towels or walls); Monitor and account for test materials periodically throughout the testing; Clear the memory of each calculator (if applicable) before dismissing the test takers and ensure that no test contents is being removed or concealed (e.g., writing on the calculator); Inform all examinees that they must refrain from using their personal cell phones or text messaging during the test administration; Advise test takers that they are prohibited at all times from taking photos or recordings of any kind in the test centers, including during administration or breaks; Proctors both the computer and paper base exams (not simultaneously).
Associate's Degree preferred; high school graduate required; Have the ability to interact effectively and courteously with test takers and test center personnel; Basic computer literacy skills (Microsoft Office Suite, Windows, Internet); Experience working with adult learner population a plus; Excellent oral and written communication skills; Be alert to detect instances of improper conduct or theft of test materials; Excellent organizational skills; Bilingual preferred (English-Spanish); Available to proctor bi monthly testing on Mondays and/or Wednesdays 3:00-9:00pm and/or weekly on Friday 8:30am-2:30pm; Must adhere to security and confidentiality policies and procedures
